PETALING JAYA: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia co-founder Rais Hussin has officially joined PKR.
He said that he decided to join PKR as he believed that Malaysia is in need of major reform.
"Malaysia is at a tipping point with the current poor state of our economy and high cost of living.
"It is important that we acknowledge the need for immediate reform to save Malaysia's economy.
"I strongly agree with Pakatan's desire for reforms which is why I have decided to join," the former Bersatu strategist said in a press conference at PKR's headquarters on Thursday (Oct 13).
Former Bera Umno deputy chief Mohd Jiddi Yaakob, who echoed similar sentiments, also joined PKR on Thursday.
Rais had recently left Bersatu as he had not been active in the party since 2020.
He was appointed to the Bersatu Supreme Council in 2016 but stayed out of its party elections in 2020 due to a heart procedure.
